Natural Artist Safflower Oil from Italy

The joy of Safflower Oil.

Safflower seed extract (saffranon) creates a superior drying oil.  It has features that are similar to poppy seed oil but it dries faster due to a natural siccative in this particular oil.   "Siccative" means it helps the paint dry faster naturally. It does not yellow and helps to soften and make the paint more fluid.  Safflower Oil is particularly suitable for white and light colors.

Safflower Oil has no toxic fumes, and is safe for the artist to use and enjoy.   The combination of natural oil and the waxy coating of human skin form a protective barrier that keeps toxic pigments out of the body.

Safflower Oil does not evaporate on the canvas, nor from an open container, thereby does NOT emit toxic fumes into the air we breath.

When painting with Safflower Oil there is simply the sweet smell of natural vegetable oil.  There is no pungent odor.

Safflower Oil helps the paint create a tough, flexible film when cured (completely dry) and Safflower Oil aids in the preservation of art works for centuries, as was proven by Old Master art works.

Safflower oil cleans brushes better than solvents, in our opinion, and it does NOT strip the natural oils from the brushes, so that eliminates a need for brush conditioner.
