Facts about Natural Artist Oils

Natural drying oils can be raised in the field and are bio-degradable when its time to dispose of the residue and soiled rags.

Natural drying oils are stable.  They don't evaporate.  They don't emit fumes and don't pollute our air.  They are flammable, but are not volatile (don't become gas).

Natural oils are safe for brushes and don't require the need for brush conditioner.

Natural drying oils oxidize when mixed with oil paint to bind perfectly with the pigment and become an integral part of the final paint film in the finished art work.

Natural oils oxidize when combined with paint to create a gentle chemical reaction and through this process create a tough, flexible film in the finished art work that can withstand the test of time.  Proven by the Old Masters.

Natural oils can extend or shorten the drying time as you paint, depending upon which oil you use for a given area or painting technique.

Natural oils quickly remove oil paint from your brushes while you're painting.  It's natural and safe.

Natural oil is a smart choice for today's artists.

When you're finished painting for the day, clean your brushes in natural oils, followed by a gentle cleansing with mild soap and water.  Allow the clean brushes to air dry, and they're ready for tomorrow!

For deep cleansing, use Murphy's Oil Soap.  It's main ingredient is  Potassium Hydroxide.

Baby Oil does a great job of cleaning brushes, too!

AVOID the use of solvents   We don't use solvents in our art styles.
