Pure Color GlazesPure Oil Color Glazes are reminiscent of stained glass with natural sunlight streaming through. Safflower Oil is a natural conductor of light in a oil painting. The use of clear transparent colored pigment allows the artist the luxury of easy application with dramatic results. Transparent colors are the most clean of all pigments. They are similar to tiny bits of ground glass with nothing to stop the flow of sunlight through them. Renaissance masters actually did add ground glass in their colored pigments to enhance the sparkling quality of their art works. This color radiance became the hallmark of Renaissance and Baroque Master Painter.
When applied over a classic grisaille foundation these pure color glazes yield a magnificent result in the finished art work. Not only are the colors rich and beautiful but they are also natural conductors of radiant sunlight. This allows natural sunlight to participate in the finished art work. There is no substitute for this process. Acrylic colors are not as dazzling because they lack the ingredient of pure oil, the conductor of sunlight. Linda Coulter specializes in this type of pure color glazes to transform her classic grisaille designs to full color masterpieces.
Linda Coulter teaches color theory in a way that makes it EASY to learn and FUN to play with pure color glazes.
This empowers the beginner artist to achieve dramatic results very quickly.
Linda has developed a Master Color Chart filled with pure color glazes that are easily mixed from only 4 bright pigments and 2 earth pigments. This incredibly streamlined system allows the artist to stock only 8 tubes of paint. Red, yellow, blue, green, sienna, brown, black and white. From this simple, yet powerful, small handful of pigments comes an infinite number of pure color glazes and opaque color accents. Linda's paint is manufactured in Milan, Italy, using only pure pigment and natural oil to create the ultimate Pure Color Glazes. All of Linda's projects are created with these pure color glazes applied over her classic grisaille designs. This system divides and conquers the painting process, thus allowing the artist to concentrate on only one thing at a time while creating radiant works of art.
