Artist Painting Resins

Resins are exudates of coniferous trees.  Resins gathered from living trees are called soft resins, such as damar and mastic.  Resins obtained from now extinct trees are known as hard resins.  They are found in deposits of  dead trees.

M. Graham makes a solvent free Walnut Alkyd Painting Medium that helps paint dry faster.

Typically, Safflower oil will aid the drying time of oil paint.   This takes an average of three to four days.

On those rare occasions when you might want a painting to dry overnight, you may consider the use of M. Graham's Walnut Alkyd Medium.

This medium can be cleaned up from the work area and brushes by using oil first, then soap and water cleansing.
