Irish Castle with Swans is a wonderful scene to paint with moss draped castle ruins and sunlit grasses reflecting their mirror images in a shimmering lake with two graceful swans. This seminar is rich in techniques and learning 5 perspectives. You will learn 5 different kinds of perspective in this one seminar: 1) Light Perspective. How to capture the angle of sun rays to create special effects in a scene. 2) Shadow Perspective. How to paint cast shadows in perspective. This creates interest and accentuates 3 dimensional form. 3) Water Reflections Perspective. How to reflect the building, sky and trees into the water using vanishing points on the eye level line. 4) Linear Perspective. How to get those angles just right to create a realistic effect. 5) Aerial Perspective. How to make some areas recede in the picture plane while other areas advance. Houding is a fine art concept used by the Dutch Masters of the Golden Age. Linda will teach you how to apply the techniques for houding to this scene as an added bonus! You can paint this scene in summer or autumn. It's your choice. Canvas size is 20 x 30 which makes a lovely art work to display in your home decor. Paint is included in tuition. Pre-toned artist canvas can be purchased at Coulter Art Cottage at a special discount when you arrive for the seminar. Only 6 brushes are used. Linda's brush sets. Three brushes are bristle and 3 are Taklon. If you have similar brushes you may use those instead buying new ones.
