For the intermediate painter ... If you're a faster painter or desire more of a
challenge, then you can paint the entire painting
this day. ((Shown at left) For the beginner... Paint a smaller, simpler version of today's painting. Paint the garden gate as shown (upper right) or paint the garden steps as shown (lower right) Everyone will learn the grisaille techniques and color glazing techniques to create full color projects, but each painter can work at her own comfortable pace all day.
Linda Coulter will demonstrate everything. Michelle and Amanda Coulter will join Linda to circulate through the classroom all day to answer questions and help students correct mistakes. Come. Join the fun at Cohoes, New York!
For a faster project, paint just the lighthouse. For a more complex project, add the sleigh. The sleigh is not hard, but it is time consuming.
Here is the grisaille underpainting for this project. Color is not added until the neutral grisaille is finished. The canvas will contain the block in. Students will finish grisaille detail and then add color during this class.
